Not that bad in the winter, either. Okay, I lie. But you should still come on down. It's surprisingly close. (When I lived in Atlanta, I'd think nothing of driving 40 miles for a night out. Now I'm - you live in Bethesda? Sorry, nice knowing you.)

FWIW, growing up involved more Germany, England, and Hawaii (most definitely not part of the US) than the US.

And as to needing to write more than a few lines? Well, you know, I've heard they have these things called online journals? Or web logs? Or blogs? I dunno. All the cool kids have 'em, I've been told.

Just a quick a comment*: it was fascinating to learn this tidbit about your childhood. It makes it so much clearer to me why you express your views about freedom the way you do, which I always found to have an oddly familiar overtone to them that I couldn't quite put my finger on an, I admit, found a bt strange for someone who [I thought[ only grew up in the U.S.

Man, that drink and talk session is getting more and more attractive by the moment. Springtime in D.C. is nice, I hear.

*There is no such thing as a quick comment with me. I just use phrases like that to pretend I am succinct in order to trap the poor kistener/reader.
