I’m really conflicted about how I titled this. On one hand, I think it’s really quite ridiculous to asterisk out letters to pretend that a word isn’t brought to mind (did you know that John McCain called his wife a cunt in public?). On the other hand, I know that the title of this entry will show up on a *lot* of sites, likely with different sensibilities than mine.
Unrelated, but the cultural reference reminded me how there’s always a tiny part of me that always giggles like a gradeschooler when reading or hearing of the Daily ‘Kos’. (Farsi word for asterisked word*, if pronounced the right way). It’s the same reason I always laugh if I hear someone order a Kir Royale (which I immediately ‘hear’ as royal penis).
Of course, trigonometry was always hilarious, too, whether here or back home. Our teachers, especially the male ones back home, were very careful to fully pronounce cosine and never abbreviate it!
*Not being overly sensitive, just figured if you were not writing it out in general, it’s b/c you want to avoid trolls.
Trig humour? That is some serious dorkery, Ms. Peej.

Oh, also realized tonight that the couple starting off the video above? Are the same couple in a commercial for Lowe’s that’s running heavily in Atlanta now. Much amusement.

I wear my math nerdiness and dorkery with much pride, Mr. MB. Watch out or I’ll start singing the base 10 logarithm table to Battle Hymn of the Republic or the trig. identities to Ode to Joy.
