{"id":1026,"date":"2008-07-14T19:23:25","date_gmt":"2008-07-14T23:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/?p=1026"},"modified":"2008-07-15T12:45:38","modified_gmt":"2008-07-15T16:45:38","slug":"murky-coffee-meta-petty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/2008\/07\/14\/murky-coffee-meta-petty\/","title":{"rendered":"Murky Coffee: Meta Petty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This isn&#8217;t particularly noteworthy, other than it reminded me just how ubiquitous blogs have become (or &#8211; really &#8211; how ubiquitous they&#8217;ve become in a very narrow segment of society). <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"imagefloatright\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3019\/2667261495_d037bf0ed7.jpg\" alt=\"Fuck You And Your Precious Coffee Policy\" width=\"223\" height=\"297\" \/> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andiamnotlying.com\">This guy<\/a> stopped in <a href=\"http:\/\/murkycoffee.com\/\">Murky Coffee<\/a> (which is just down the street from me), the barista played to stereotype, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andiamnotlying.com\/2008\/murky-coffee-arlington-hold-that-espresso-between-your-knees\/\">he wrote about it<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.welovedc.com\/\">This other guy<\/a> overheard the conversation between the first guy and the barista, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.welovedc.com\/2008\/07\/13\/welcome-to-murky-you-dont-get-it-your-way\/\">wrote about it, too.<\/a> And then Boing Boing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2008\/07\/14\/funny-espresso-rant.html\">wrote about the first guy writing about it<\/a> (which is where I first heard about it).\u00c2\u00a0 And now I&#8217;m writing about all three of them writing about it.\u00c2\u00a0 And using a picture that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tombridge.com\/\">someone else<\/a> took of the result of the conversation between the first guy and the barista.<\/p>\n<p>All that effort, and none of us have contributed anything useful to the world, I&#8217;m afraid.<\/p>\n<p>(FWIW, I&#8217;d trade Murky Coffee for the old junk shop that used to be there in a heartbeat.\u00c2\u00a0 And Murky Coffee should take that dollar bill down from the bulletin board and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2008\/03\/20\/AR2008032003401.html\">use it to pay their unpaid DC taxes<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Murky Coffee owner Nick Cho <a href=\"http:\/\/www.murkycoffee.com\/2008\/07\/open-letter-to-jeff-simmermon.html\">gets in on the clown bandwagon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Photo: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tombridge.com\/\">Tom Bridge<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This isn&#8217;t particularly noteworthy, other than it reminded me just how ubiquitous blogs have become (or &#8211; really &#8211; how ubiquitous they&#8217;ve become in a very narrow segment of society).
