Despite a childhood’s worth of disdain for things like county fairs (or even worse – instruments of torture like Kaposia Days<\/a>), I’ve somehow turned into a very big fan of the Arlington County Fair<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Rides for the kids, stages for musicians, shadows for teens holding hands, Best Local Vegetable competitions for gardeners, and policy information booths for dorks like me.\u00c2\u00a0 Go check it out.<\/p>\n

Location: Thomas Jefferson Middle School<\/p>\n

Parking\/transport:\u00c2\u00a0 Options listed here<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Parking can be a bit of a pain in the immediate vicinity.\u00c2\u00a0 Consider parking the south ends of the Ashton Heights\/Lyon Park neighborhoods (now they’ll never invite me over) and walking there.\u00c2\u00a0 Keep in mind, however, that the pedestrian bridge at the end of N. Jackson St. is out of service.\u00c2\u00a0 Plenty of bike racks near the school.<\/p>\n
