My best travel year yet, really.  Slightly over 86,000 km.   Noteworthy trips included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A very rewarding journey through India, <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72057594058147782\/detail\/\">Dubai<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72057594058663685\/detail\/\">South Africa<\/a> (write up of first half of that trip <a href=\"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/2006\/01\/28\/dca-jfk-ams-del-jai-bom-dxb-or-i-go-to-india\/\">here<\/a>, pictures from each section linked through the country name)<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72057594083187794\/detail\/\">quick jaunt to Bermuda<\/a> &#8211; who knew such waters were so close to DC?<\/li>\n<li>A multipurpose trip out west &#8211; a wedding in <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72157594167501059\/detail\/\">San Francisco<\/a>, some <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72157594167502787\/detail\/\">hiking in the Grand Canyon<\/a>, and the DailyKos convention in <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72157594192181467\/\">Vegas<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72157594280501061\/\">Mexico City<\/a> and Tepoztlan, for a wedding &#8211; I can&#8217;t recall the last time I&#8217;d traveled with so many friends.<\/li>\n<li>My year end voyage &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/blacknell\/sets\/72157594470495916\/\">Istanbul<\/a>, Dubai, Karachi, Lahore, and Athens (where, as we drove by the American Embassy &#8211; you know, the one <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2007\/WORLD\/europe\/01\/12\/athens.blast\/index.html\">just hit by a rocket<\/a> &#8211; the cab driver pointed it out as the safest building in Greece . . . ).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am very lucky, indeed.
