Frank] Hargrove said of slavery, which existed in Virginia from 1619 until the Civil War. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153By golly, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re living in 2007.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But wait, it gets better!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Are we going to force the Jews to apologize for killing Christ?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hargrove wondered. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nobody living today had anything to do with it.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Must be seeking the GOP nomination for the Senate, or something . . .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Updated to add:\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong> Really, to hear so many objections from a conservative population that otherwise fetishizes empty gestures (One nation under God, In God We Trust) should be surprising. But, of course, it isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t.
