{"id":2878,"date":"2009-05-08T21:23:17","date_gmt":"2009-05-09T01:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/?p=2878"},"modified":"2009-05-08T21:24:05","modified_gmt":"2009-05-09T01:24:05","slug":"friday-notes-late-edition-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/2009\/05\/08\/friday-notes-late-edition-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Notes: Late Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spent much of the day at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brennancenter.org\/content\/event\/brennan_center_campaign_finance_reform_conference\">Brennan Center&#8217;s Money in Politics 2009: New Horizons for Reform<\/a> conference.\u00c2\u00a0 It was well worth the time spent, I think, and I came away with a better understanding of the state of play on campaign finance reform (really, try and manage your jealousy). \u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll post a little more about it over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>~<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow brings the Centenary Giro d&#8217;Italia!\u00c2\u00a0 Everything you ever needed and wanted to know (and more) about the 100th running of one of this pro cycling stage race it can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/podiumcafe.com\">PodiumCafe<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 I suggest starting with Chris&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.podiumcafe.com\/2008\/12\/15\/692620\/workingman-s-guide-to-the\">Workingman&#8217;s Guide to the Centenary Giro<\/a> to get an idea for which stages you might want to catch.\u00c2\u00a0 This year, the race is <em>very<\/em> accessible, as Universal Sports will be carrying it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universalsports.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?SPID=13044&amp;DB_OEM_ID=23000&amp;ATCLID=3734597\">both live online and broadcast<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 And in case you&#8217;re wondering whether this is just me overhyping some dull race, check out this map of the end of Stage 19:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/img164.imageshack.us\/img164\/7778\/screencap3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"363\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yes, it ends on Mt.
