Comstock to Stop Blocking Road Safety In Virginia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s almost time for the Virginia legislature to start a new session. \u00c2\u00a0And once again, they&#8217;ll have an opportunity to help make Virginia&#8217;s roads safer by bringing its laws into line with the rest of the country. \u00c2\u00a0For reasons I can&#8217;t fathom, this has somehow turned into a partisan question. \u00c2\u00a0Fairfax&#8217;s Delegate Barbara Comstock has repeatedly stood in the way of laws that would lead to safer roads. \u00c2\u00a0As WABA&#8217;s Greg Billing explains it:<\/p>\n<table style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"middle\">Tonight, McLean Citizens Association will host a <a href=\"http:\/\/salsa.democracyinaction.org\/dia\/track.jsp?v=2&amp;c=eMnaP613hG1I8IKgQWm%2FzHiyUucx7ces\">Town Hall meeting<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0with several local legislators, including Delegate Barbara Comstock.\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/salsa.democracyinaction.org\/dia\/track.jsp?v=2&amp;c=ecui63PRDcnfyI5HnIAZ1niyUucx7ces\"><b>Delegate Comstock cast the deciding votes last year\u00c2\u00a0to kill two bills that would help protect bicyclists<\/b><\/a>: 1) A bill that would prevent motorists from following a bicyclist more closely than is reasonable.
