This involved two riders starting from a dead stop and sprinting for the line, 200 meters away.  The winner advanced to the next round.  So this is what the two guys below were trying to do.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/img_3516.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-808\" title=\"img_3516\" src=\"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/img_3516.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/img_3516.jpg 2833w, https:\/\/blacknell.net\/dynamic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/img_3516-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Andrew Christian, riding for the Naval Academy, missed a shift and went down, while Nickolas Shamrell, riding for West Point, unsuccessfully tried to avoid the same fate.   And yet the sprint was still contested by both riders, and one of them won.
