Del. Al Eisenberg’s Retiring

Code at BC brings us word that Del. Al Eisenberg had decided that he won’t be running for re-election this fall.  Del. Eisenberg has certainly earned the right to take a break.  He’s been in elected public service to Arlington over 25 years.

While I’m somewhat disappointed in that this means there will be no Ashton Heights Smackdown in the primary, a wide open primary sounds like a lot of fun.

Fun for you, I have an uncontested primary. Well, as far as I know no one is running against Adam Ebbin.

I can’t think of anything Ebbin’s done that annoyed anyone this past term. You?

LOL! It’s hard to do something annoying when you’re a Democratic delegate to the GA. So, no, I can’t think of anything. I don’t know any of the people he honored in his resolutions though.

    Did Eisenberg do something annoying?

Not that I’m aware of. I suspect he’s just had enough. I’m thinking that Grant’s candidacy was a bet that Eisenberg would be retiring, and Grant just wanted to get a jump on Adam Parkhomenko. If Eisenberg didn’t retire, well, Grant would get his name out there for the future.

Parkhomenko is what, 23? And Grant right around there, perhaps a little older? Yeah, I think we’ll be seeing more names in this primary.

  5. Ah, to be 23 again, when I drove an ’87 Toyota Camry and thought Honey Brown was good beer. For the record, I’m 31.

Ah. Thanks. And glad to hear that you’ve moved beyond Honey Brown. Would be a shame to live around Galaxy Hut and Dremo’s, and still be drinking that.
