A couple of years ago, I would have been pretty confident in saying both. Now I’m pretty sure that the thrower will be too popular to torture. I expect they’ll hold him until January 20th.
Everyone has seen this NYT photo of Talabani defending Bush, no? Tell me that *that* doesn’t just illustrate the whole sorry state of things.
I’m conflicted. It’s like watching someone else pick on your ignorant, unintelligent, despotic little brother. Sure, I’d hurl my shoes at him in a heart beat and follow up with my belt, but no one else gets to pick on him. He’s mine.
Sadly, he’s not. He’s been everyone’s problem. Would that we could have limited his damage to the country that put him in power . . .
Anyway, if anyone gets the right to swing back on the ignorant, unintelligent, despotic little brother, it’s the kid he’s been beating the shit out of for all of grade school while everyone else just watched.
