On Bullying (Mitt’s and Otherwise)

Looks like Mitt Romney participated in some pretty foul acts, in high school.

So, I don’t think any adult should be condemned for an act undertaken in childhood/teenage years. But I don’t think it’s at all unfair to judge him on how he handles looking back at it from adulthood.

I not only witnessed – but participated in – some awful behavior towards other kids. Did it kinda sorta make sense at the time? Sure. But as an adult, I look back, and I’m horrified at what a bunch of little monsters we were. And given the chance, I’d apologize a million times over for it.

So when you’re given a chance, as an adult, to own up to it, and you equivocate?

Screw you. You’re a shitty human being.

  1. Republican Voter Fraud is becoming Rampant. Check out YouTube “Chris Woodfin”. The Top Republican for Bobby Scott’s 3rd District, Christopher Woodfin, has been caught on video tape of his statements that he is committing voter fraud. He states he lives in the 4th Congressional District (Chesapeake) but votes in Norfolk (3rd Congressional District). He stated this on July 14, 2011. Incredibly the 3 Republican lawyers (one works for Attorney General Cuccinelli’s office as an assistant AG), 8 other city/county leaders and other Republicans listened to this confession and never did anything. Woodfin is running for 3rd District Chair again, even though everyone knows he lives in Chesapeake. OUTRAGEOUS!!! Please check out the video – only 7 minutes.

I like how he says “If” I did something bad I “would” apologize. Which is not really an apology. And while I think it’s OK to say “If I offended you, I apologize” when the offence could be an accident, but when you assault someone there is no room to act like you were unaware that someone would be bothered by that.
